Full Text

Temperance.—The Temperance cause is making rapid progress throughout our whole section of country. We were at Rockingham last week, and while there, assisted in the formation of a Division of the Sons. We bid our young friends who were initiated God speed in the good cause! They have lifted up their banner against the most powerful enemy of human happiness that the world has ever yet seen. Were the tears that he has caused to flow gathered into one deep sea of anguish they would float the navy of the nation: while the sighs that he has wrung from the scathed and blighted bosom of injured innocence, would waft that navy a hundred times around the world.
