Parental Tenderness of Mocking Birds.—

A Tennessee gentleman writes to Mr. Merriam that two mocking birds made a nest in his garden and reared a family, one of which was club-footed, which the parents fed first, and for which they had a different call. Before the young birds were ready to fly, he removed them into a cage, and then took the cage into the house. The parent birds followed their little ones and fed them in the cage, within the house, thus affording a most beautiful example of parental affection, tenderness and kindness.
