Dr John Kean, late surgeon of the ship Leander, formerly commanded by Captain Lewis, of New York, arrived at Wickford, (R. I.) in the schooner Ocean, on the 31st ult. He informs, that on the 20th of June, he left the son of Col. Smith, of New York, on board the Leander, with General Miranda, at Barbadoes, in health; and that the Leander was weighing anchor at three o'clock in the afternoon of the same day, bound for Trinidad, accompanied by two English sloops of war, a 20 gun brig, and two schooners.
