This means that all eyes turn to Clarksdale, Ga., where the Clarksdale Eagles play host to the league-leading Braves. Baseball fans will also be awaiting the outcome of games at College Park, where the College Park Indians play the Jefferson Giants and at Athens, Ga., there the Athens Cardinals entertain the Robinson Dodgers.
HIGHLAND STARS AT HULL STADIUM
The Highland Stars will be back at Hull Stadium to cross bats with the Campanella Stars; and the East Point Bears travel to Gainesville to pair off with the Gainesville Lions.
League President Elmer Knox disclosed Friday that at least three games were forfeited last weekend for failure of teams to keep schedule or field a complete team. This means that the East Point Bears may pick up a game and get back in the battle for the pennant. The Eagles are scheduled to pick up two games.
President Knox also predicted a three-way tie for the pennant and indicated he may be faced with the problem of finding parks for the play-offs.
The Braves, who eased into the top spot last weekend, when the Indians were beaten by the Dodgers, 19-3 at Hull Stadium, can go all the way, but will have lots of trouble ahead.
