THREE CHILDREN ON A ROCK.

Once upon a time there were three children, a girl and two boys. Their names were John Harry and May.

They thought that they would like to take a boat ride, so they asked their father and mother if they could go.

Their father and mother told them that they might go. They went down to the stream to get in the boat Harry and May got in the boat and John untied it, and then got in himself. The boat was easily managed, so that they got along nicely. After a while they saw a large rock, to which they quickly rowed. They got out of the boat when they had fastened the boat tight, but the rope broke and the boat drifted back to the shore.

Now the children did not know what to do so they put May's apron on one of the oars and waved it at the people on the shore.

The people came to them and they were taken to shore safely.
