Camp at Fort Bedford, Sept 5. 1764.

The Pack horses and Escort that went to Fort Pitt with Provisions, returned Yesterday ; and this Day the second Convoy begins to set off for that Post.

The following Letter is just arrived From the Commanding Officer at Fort Cumberland.

Fort Cumberland, Sept. 3, 1764.

A great Number of Indians have been Seen upon the South Branch of Potomac. and done much Mischief. Capt. Macdonald is gone with his Company of Militia to Way lay them, when they go back. and I hope to send you good News within Eight Days.
