A letter from Hanover, of May 22 says, We begin to tremble in earnest for this electorate, since we were informed, that the French design to penetrate into it in two different places, and treat the inhabitants as the King of Prussia treats the Mecklenburghers. Some of our Citizens and the most wealthy part of the country people, are already taking precautions for lodging their best effects in places of safety. Prince Ferdinand on his part is taking the necessary measures to frustrate their deigns, and has just now recalled all the officers and private men who were absent on furlough. He is endeavouring at present to prevent the enemy by some signal blow.
