Mrs. John Pilrain was a Sandstone visitor between trains Friday. Carl Moline of Minneapolis, is visiting with his sister, Mrs. John Edin for awhile. Chas. Anderson of section four, is at the Moose Lake hospital undergoing a slight operation. Fred Hedberg came over from Belden Saturday night and spent Sunday with the folks at home. The Duquette Creamery Ass'n will have their annual meeting at the Community hall Wednesday. John M. Anderson, George P. DeLong and Frank Pilrain made a trip to Nickerson Tuesday afternoon. Geo. P. DeLong of St. Paul, came up Monday noon and will spend a few days here and at Nickerson. Rudolph Lillebo was a welcome visitor in the neighborhood during the week end, returning to Minneapolis Monday. Ralph Sphung, who has been employed up on the Range country for a short time, came back Saturday night. John M. Anderson with daughter, Irene, and son, Leslie, went to Sandstone to see the dentist Wednesday of last week. Miss Clara Marcotte, Mrs. Ralph Sphung and Mrs. John Marcotte, Jr. took the noon train for Superior, Monday. The Misses Alice Norell, Helen Erickson, Lucille Kaufman and Linea and Nora Johnson, all of Duluth, came down Friday night to spend the week end at their homes and incidentally take in the masquerade dance. Mr. and Mrs. Erick Edin made a trip to Duluth Saturday to visit Mrs. Edin's brother, Erick Olson, who is confined at the Nopeming Sanatorium, being in the last stages of tuberculosis. Mr. Olson used to spend part of his time here and is well known to many around Duquette. The masquerade dance put on by the Community Ladies' Aid society Saturday night sure was a success in every way. A record breaking crowd attended and everybody had the time of their life. Some very classy and interesting costumes were worn. As a token of the popularity of the amusements put on at Duquette, it may be mentioned that St. Paul, Minneapolis, Sandstone, Askov, Bruno, Moose Lake and Duluth, beside the places closer by, were represented in the attendance, who came purposely to take in the masquerade.
