THE INTERVIEWER.
What people you know have been heard to say, by the editor of The Sentinel, on matters that are of more than passing interest to all
"While I was in Denver during Conclave week I made it my business to interview many of the Denver wholesale men and merchants as to their views concerning the Midland Trail. To the wholesale men I made the plea that Grand Junction does a great deal of her wholesale buying in Denver, that we business men of Grand Junction patronize Denver wholesale houses, and that there certainly should be a spirit of reciprocity and co-operation between Denver and the Western Slope.
Therefore, I contended to them that they should be favorable to the Midland Trail above all other trails because the Midland Trail means the greater development of western Colorado," so declared Charles E. Quist, yesterday.
"I put up this line of talk, and I found that the sentiment among the wholesalers of Denver is for the Midland Trail. In fact, I found but little opposition to the Midland Trail. Nearly all of the men I talked to are members of the Denver Chamber of Commerce, and they assured me that the majority of the members of that body would stand by the Midland Trail clear down the line."
"I do not give much weight to the opposition of the Denver Motor Club. The resolution opposing the Midland Trail was put through by a small clique, and I do not believe represents the sentiment of the majority of the club."
"I returned home more enthusiastic than ever over the outlook for the Trail," concluded Mr. Quist.
