The Draft $500 Bounty

Capt. Smith, the Provost Marshal of this District, in answer to inquiries, says: 'There are thirty men behind in the 1st Sub-District, and twenty-one in the 2d Sub-District of Kanawha county. I can give but a short time, unless there are some recruits put in, so as to enable me to prolong the time. Our Board of Supervisors, at their meeting last Friday evening, increased the County Bounty from $200 to $500. This, added to the Government Bounty of $300, will make a handsome sum, considering the light service which will probably be required from recruits.'
