How Murray Lost His Watch.

West Chester Local News.

John Murray, a colored resident of Pocopson, mourns the loss of a new watch, which was his joy and pride, as a result of his enjoyable trip to Reading on the excursion of the colored Odd Fellows. John does not know at what hour it left him and the parting was not a sad one, inasmuch as he was not aware of it until an hour or more afterward, but then his sadness came like a thunderbolt. The chain to which it was attached was cut by some one and the timepiece quietly abstracted from his pocket. He says at least three other watches changed ownership on the train in the same manner and a Wilmington expert in the line of pocket-picking executed the transfers in his own approved and successful style.
