FREEWATER, May 18.-Strawberries are now being shipped in large quantities by the S. S. Shields company, and the branch house of the Walla Walla Produce company, each shipping from 300 to 400 crates daily. The growers now realize about $3.50 per crate; last week they received $4. The berries are going in all directions, and they are in great demand, as they are earlier here than in most sections. The late rain will be a benefit, as they were ripening too fast for a few days before.
