FARM BUREAU BEAUTY CONTEST

Preparations are being made to stage the second annual series of Maryland County Farm Bureau beauty contests, and last year's winners in each of the sixteen Farm Bureau communities are aiding in plans for this summer's series of tilts which will be held in connection with the annual farmers' picnics and outings.

The most attractive girl attending each picnic, and who must be a member of a Farm Bureau family, will be chosen as the county representative. She will be sent to Baltimore next January to represent her county in the second annual beauty contest to be held by the Maryland Farm Bureau Federation at its annual convention. A style show will be staged in connection with the contest and each county beauty will be the guest of the State organization for three days at a big city hotel where a program of entertainment will be arranged in honor of the visiting contestants.

The winner will be given a handsome award and each contestant will receive an attractive souvenir of her visit to Baltimore and the State parley.

Last year's winners who have given this summer's series of contests their approval and who are aiding the arrangements are Mary Alice Wigley, Millersville, Anne Arundel County; Helen Jordan, White Hall, Baltimore County; Cornelia DeWilde, Denton, Caroline County; Stella McGrady Rising Sun, Cecil Co.; Marguerite Hubbard, Hurlock, Dorchester Co.; E. Frances Rudy, Middletown, Frederick; Alberta Molesworth, Mount Airy, Howard; Mary Louise Morris, Chestertown, Kent; Alice A. Darby, Boyds, Montgomery; Dorothy F. Keith, Centreville, Queen Anne; Eudora Sheridan, Easton, Talbot; Kathleen Stotlemyer, Hagerstown, Washington Co.; Florence Wimbrow, Salisbury, Wicomico; Laura May Chesser, Pocomoke City, Worcester, Naomi Shoemaker, Woodbine, Carroll; and Eleanor Wilson, Pylesville, Harford county.

The second annual Cecil County Farm Bureau beauty contest will be held on the 3rd day of August in connection with the annual Farm Bureau picnic. The yearly outing will be staged at Crystal Beach Manor. The most attractive Farm Bureau girl in the county will be chosen out of a number of contestants by capable judges and she will compete with other county winners in the second annual Maryland Farm Bureau contest to be held in Baltimore in connection with the annual State convention, early next year.

Miss Stella McGrady, of Cecil County, was the last state-wide winner and was presented with a large chest of flat silver by the Governor on behalf of the Maryland Farm Bureau Federation. Each of the other girls received gold pieces.

This county wants to select the most attractive Farm Bureau girl for its representative this year. Local Farm Bureau officials hope all Farm Bureau girls, members of Farm Bureau families, will attend the picnic and enter the contest.

Remember the time and place, the 3rd day of August at Crystal Beach Manor.
