Full Text

California Boss Wheat Field,
Solano (Cal.) Republican.

Mr John Lookey has a field of wheat between Suisun and Vacaville, which we believe double discounts any field of grain ever heard of. He has fifty acres of the velvet or Sonora variety of wheat standing and measured in Milzner's store, taken at haphazard from the field, which measured six feet four inches in height. We challenge any climate or any country to beat this, even in its most propitious season. The stalks of this wheat are saw-perfectly devoid of rust or mildew, clean and healthy as any grain we ever saw and we see no reason why it will not drive a big thing.
