Missionary Women Close Big Meeting

The annual conference of the Atlanta Branch of the A M E W H and F M. Society, Mrs. M. B. Thornton, president, met at St. Peters A. M E Church Thursday and Friday and had a wonderful meeting. Addresses were delivered by Mrs J. A. Fountain, state supervisor of the W. H. and F. M Society and Connectional treasurer of the W H. and F M. Society and Mrs. Bishop J. S Flipper, and the conference branch president, Mrs W B Lawrence of the Atlanta district. Mrs. E. H. Montgomery of the South Atlanta district. Mrs. R E Roman, of the West Atlanta district. Mrs. G C Carswell of the Griffin district. Mrs J. F. Moses, Mrs. A L. Mathews, state supt. of Young Peoples Society, and Mrs. Miss Beulah Thornton, Conference Branch president of the Y P. S. I B Canady The meeting was full of information and inspiration.

While the finances showed increases over last year Bishop Fountain delivered a most wonderful address and inspired the women to go forth with greater zeal and courage to do their work. All the presiding elders were present, including Brother W. B. Lawrence of the Atlanta district; Dr J. F. Moses of the South Atlanta district, Dr R. A. Roman of the West Atlanta District. Dr G. B. Lancaster of the Griffin district. Dr B V. Thornton of the Monticello district.

Rev. D. W. Wiggs, pastor of Antioch A. M. E Church, Decatur, and his junior choir, was in charge of the music Friday night Mrs. Reed charmed the audience with her playing. "Men Are Nothing But Blowed Up Paper Sacks," which pulled down the house Rev. Phelps and wife and congregation rendered a fine service to the convention and served dinner for the two days.
