RIDGES AND FURROWS

As a young minister I went to the field to visit a farmer. It was spring and he was planting corn with a lister. There were ridges and furrows, ridges and furrows across a wide expanding, many an acre field.

Stepping from one ridge to the other I spied a tiny insect attempting to climb out of the furrow. I said, "poor little fellow, your horizon is far too limited. You cannot see that your furrows and ridges are but the part of a master plan to produce a harvest of corn to feed hungry multitudes."

Does your life seem full of ridges and furrows? Remember the Lord of harvest knows what is best for your life and the lives to come. Job 23:10 says: "He knoweth the way that I take and when He hath tried me I shall come forth as gold."

Seek not, then, the experience of someone else, but seek Gods divine will for your life. Relinquish what He takes and receive what He gives, and be thankful for it.
