Full Text
Dangerous Customs. - In the streets, some distance from the centre of the city, drivers of licensed vehicles and others are accustomed to drive round corners at great speed and generally very near the side walk. Several times we have noticed children nearly run over in this way. It is also customary to leave horses and buggies fastened to posts on the side-walks, without any attendant. Even the quietest horse may be alarmed sometimes and break away, and we suppose that, until some serious accident or loss of life occurs, no action will be taken to regulate this custom.
