THE rebels of Vendee are all disposed to lay down their arms, and enter again into the bosom of the Republic. Soroberie, commander of the Cavalry of Charette, adopts in his letters the language, Father of the Republic, speaks with respect of the National Convention, of the Representatives of the People, and substitutes, always the word Citizen, to that of Monsieur. The advance posts of the Rebels, and those of the Republicans, reply to each other aloud, Live the Republic! re-union and fraternity! Very lately 50 Cavaliers of Charette, and many hundred of the foot soldiers, re-united to our brave volunteers, shouted together, Live the Republic, only one rebel cried, Live the King. His officer reprimanded him severely, and declared he would make an example of him, had he not believed that it was from habit only he had uttered a word, which ought forever to be proscribed. Then anew they cried, Live the Republic, Live the Convention. They asked and received the kiss of peace & fraternity.
Every thing shews the approaching end of the unhappy war of Vendee. The representative of the people of Ruelle was attended with impatience within the walls of Nantz.
