CRASH BETWEEN MEXICAN FACTIONS IS IMPENDING
Three Thousand Federal Troops En route to Oppose Forces of Rebel. lious Governor Cantu
San Diego, Cal., Aug. 14.-A force of 3,000 soldiers of the Mexican government, heavily equipped and prepared for battle, landed at El Barril, on the Gulf of California, yesterday and will start their march north across the Colorado desert to attack the Cantu forces at Mexicali, according to word received here last night by Ives G. Lelevier, Mexican consul.
Mexicali, Lower California, Aug. 14. -The international line was closed yesterday by American authorities to all save those already possessing passports and border permits, and instructions were received that no more permits were to be issued to any person except on definite proof of urgent business.
Washington, Aug. 14.-Negotiations are now in progress between the de facto government of Mexico and Governor Cantu of the northern part of Lower California, which may even yet prevent the sending of federal troops into that district, according to the Mexican embassy.
