The anti-Masons and all those in this State who prefer Mr. Wirt as a candidate for President, will undoubtedly throw their votes on the regular Republican Anti-Jackson Ticket for Electors. For this is the only way in which they can do any thing to promote his election. If they vote for an anti-masonic ticket, and are numerous enough to accomplish any thing, it can only be to throw the choice of Electors into our Legislature, where there is a Jackson majority, and of course to carry this State for Jackson. But if they make common cause with the other and more numerous party, opposed to the re-election of Jackson, as has been done in most, and will be done in all the other States where the anti-masons have become a party, the anti-Jackson ticket will have a majority in New Hampshire. And by thus contributing to defeat the re-election of the present incumbent, they will adopt the only means in their power, in this State, to promote the election of Mr. Wirt.
If they should vote on an anti-masonic ticket, and thus divide the opposition to Gen. Jackson, every vote they give, will, in the result of our election, count as so many votes for the Jackson Ticket. The following article from the Portland Courier, shews that this view of the matter is taken by the friends of Mr Wirt, in the State of Maine.
From the Portland Daily Courier.
We fight for no political party; but we have no hesitation in stating our individual preference among the three candidates for the presidency. Our own opinion as an individual, is in favor of Mr. Wirt. Not on Masonic or Anti-Masonic principles, or we have no idea that Wirt would be influenced by them at all in the Administration of the Government. His letter to the convention which nominated him, is satisfactory on that head. But we are in favor of him because we believe, in the existing state of things, he would be the best man for the country. And however improbable his election may appear to others in this vicinity, we are far from thinking that his chance is greatly inferior to either of the other candidates. A contingency may yet arise which will induce the Clay electors to throw their votes on Wirt, and bring him in by the Electoral Colleges. This is not an idle surmise; we have foundation for the remark. We are inclined to think that no Wirt Electoral Ticket will be run in this State; and if that Ticket is withdrawn, it will be done with the sole view of aiding the election of Wirt. Should any of our readers consider this a riddle, we assure them it is capable of a rational solution.

The anti-Masons and supporters of Mr. Wirt in New Hampshire are advised to vote for the regular Republican Anti-Jackson Ticket for Electors to promote his election, as voting separately would split the opposition and likely result in a Jackson victory through the Legislature. This strategy aligns with actions in other states. A quoted article from the Portland Daily Courier expresses preference for Mr. Wirt over other candidates, believing he is best for the country, and suggests his election is possible through contingencies like Clay electors switching votes, with no separate Wirt ticket run in Maine to aid his election.
