of a scurrilous letter, from an anonymous author, for not inserting his unmanly, and indecent reflections on the fair sex;--and they would inform him, his friend and other associates, that they hold his letter in as deserved contempt, as they would their persons, if they were known; and further inform him, that what he may think entertaining to a junto, may not be so to the respectable public, whose esteem we shall study to preserve, rather than oblige men of no principles of religion, modesty, or even common decency; and as to his promise of a pecuniary reward, he may perhaps stand in more real need of the money than we do, neither do we think ourselves obliged to trust his promises, as a person who can send us such a letter, we think can be guilty not only of a breach of promise, but of a worse thing.
