Full Text

The Ohio State Journal, the Central federal organ of that State, has had the Taylor flag hauled down from its mast head for a week. What's in the wind?

-N. Y. True Sun.

The Ohio whiggies are in a ticklish place. Their candidate for governor, Ford, in order to conciliate the abolitionists, has refused to take the stump for Taylor, and will thus probably carry a good many votes which Taylor can not. It is for a similar reason doubtless, that the State Journal has hauled down the Taylor flag, Colonel Weller, the democratic candidate, stands a good chance for an election, however, and there can be little doubt that Cass and Butler will carry Ohio by 20 or 30,000 plurality.
