TWO GIRLS BURNED IN STOVE EXPLOSION

The waterback in a stove at the Phelps home at 470 north Fifth street exploded this morning, after a fire had been kindled in the stove, and the two girls in the kitchen at the time were quite severely injured by the escaping steam. Dr. Turner was called and the maidens treated. A water pipe supplying the waterback had evidently been frozen, leaving no water in the stove except that which was confined there by the clogged pipes. Neither girl was so badly burned that her life was endangered.
