SISTER OF A DEAD MAN MAKES GOOD WITNESS.

Relates Interview She Had With Lieut. Adams on Brother's Death.

BETTER MEMORY THAN ADAMS HAD.

COUNSEL FOR ADAMS WAS CAREFUL NOT TO PRESS MRS. PARKER ON CROSS-EXAMINATION.

ADAMS TOLD HER OF BROTHER'S FIGHTS WITH OFFICERS AND SAID HE WOULD NOT SWEAR TO SUICIDE.

By Associated Press.

Annapolis, Md., Aug. 10.—Mrs. Rose Parker, sister of Lieut. Sutton, was the center of interest in the investigation of his death today. She took the witness stand smilingly and told of an interview with Lieut. Adams. She showed her memory to be better on certain points than his. His answers as to what occurred in this interview were principally, "I don't remember."

She was positive of what was said and it was evident that she parted amicably with Adams. It was remarked also that counsel for Adams did not press her on cross examination. She said Adams told her of her brother's popularity with his brother officers and of incidents of the fights which followed the automobile trip to the Dump. She said Adams told her he would not swear her brother committed suicide, and that he knew if Sutton were living his own life would have been in danger as Sutton would "get him." He had said that Utley hated Sutton, and said someone ought to "take it out of him." Adams had told her that everyone thought he killed Sutton. She told him she did not believe it, but she wanted to prove her brother was not a suicide.

Several witnesses were recalled. Colonel Doyen, commander of marines, Lieut. Willing and Lieut. Adams again testified. Adams was made to lie on the table and his description as to where the shot entered Sutton's head was different from that of the other witnesses.
