On Sunday Night last, a very melancholy Tragedy happened: The Ship Rose, Capt. Dennis, belonging to Mr. Wynch, lying at Mr. Littlepage's Wharf, on Pamunkey River, by some unknown Accident, took Fire, while the Captain and several others were on board, who perceiving on a sudden, a great Smoke, from below, endeavoured to find out the Fire, but in vain; for in their Search, they were almost suffocated with Smoke, which soon burst into a Blaze, and burnt the Ship, with near 50 Hogsheads of Tobacco, and every Thing else belonging to her.
