LITTLE SYMPATHY
Probably there are some who think
that his, perhaps not untimely end,
considering his age, but at least unnecessarily hard end, was about what
he had coming to him, or at least,
only about what he could expect.
For the mass of humans are not
hit so hard by these heart tragedies
that they can understand or sympathize very much.
It is queer when a man so succumbs, for tradition has it that man
can pass on from one heartache to a
new joy. Women are given a little
more leeway with their emotions, but
even they are scored if they succumb too much.
