Full Text

John Quincy Adams is passing an honorable retirement in literary labors. The life of his father is nearly ready for the press. His leisure hours are, we understand, employed in the preparation of some other productions, among which is a poetical version of David's Psalms. Judging from several occasional Hymns which have from time to time appeared, we feel confident that this effort will be highly creditable to the learned and gifted author. May not the ex-President of a great and powerful nation take up the lyre of Israel's King, with equal dignity, and contribute something to the praise and glory of the "Lord of Lords and King of Kings."—Boston Eve. Gazette.
