The following is an estimate made at Lloyd's of the loss sustained by the capture of the ships by the French, under convoy of the Fortitude, from Gibraltar, according to the list received by the last Lisbon mail.

25 ships from Smyrna and Leghorn, valued in the average at 20,000l. £500,000

5 rich ships of the above, exceeding the average, 100,000

8 ships at 8,000l. 64,000

7 transports, with sundry articles returned, at 3,000l. 21,000

Censeur man of war 20,000

N. B. The Lily, one of the ships taken from Leghorn, had on board nearly three hundred bales of silk, was the richest ship in the fleet and worth 120,000
