LAME, WAS IT? - We have had it thrown
in our teeth, fragile as they are, that our
graphic, Sgnex, got us down and kept us there
despite our efforts to "turn" him.

Well, this is about the size of it: we would
rather be the under dog than to have no
fight. It should be adjudged a stroke of
fortune - a full grown and well developed
occasion for congratulation, that among you
has at last appeared, one who recognizes the
possibility of development that is inherent,
though it may be, dormant, in your local
newspaper.

While we are endowed with a saving modicum
of conceit, sufficient at least for the
preservation of our identity when we are
counting the biggest roses we are withal
content to concede the possibility that
"there may be others", etc., etc. While
you can't get blood out of a turnip, neither
do you so readily get the spark out of the
steel without the flint. We are more than
willing to serve as either the flint or the
steel; as you may be the one or the other,
hit us if you desire to see the sparks fly.
