Narrative of James Williams.--The Emancipator of yesterday contains a statement from the special committee, appointed by the Executive Committee of the Anti Slavery Society, for the purpose of obtaining and examining evidence to prove or disprove the authenticity of the "Narrative of James Williams," the truth of which has been so strenuously maintained by the Society, and which has been so widely disseminated throughout the United States, as a powerful instrument of abolition. The result of the investigation is that the narrative in so far as it assumes to be a statement of facts, is wholly false, and not entitled to the confidence of the community. The special committee, consisting of Messrs. James G. Birney and Lewis Tappan, has so reported to the Executive Committee, and thereupon the following resolution was adopted.

"That the said special committee prepare, as soon as may be, a statement in relation to said narrative, to be inserted in the Emancipator; and that the publishing agent be directed to discontinue the sale of the work."
