Full Text

Annapolis. March 25.

SOMETHING LIKE PREPARATION FOR WAR.

We are informed that Lieut. Clark has received orders from government to place this harbor in a complete state of defence.— From this we infer that it is the intention of government to man the forts with such an additional number of troops as the exposed situation of the city requires for its defence. It is a source of regret that this city has been suffered to remain without military preparation so long, as it is certainly a place of considerable importance to the state, and of course should not have been overlooked by those whose duty it is to extend equal protection to all parts of the Union.
