REPUBLICAN RULE PUT

Every man ought to be pig or pap. Trying to be both destroys the capacity to be truly either. If a man in Eastern North Carolina can so far lose his self respect as to be an independent, let him vote the Radical ticket and get down in the dirt if he prefers it. But if a man pretends to be a decent man and a Democrat, let him show it by voting the straight ticket. If he can't do that, let him make haste to go and join the Radical party and be false to himself and his family.—State Chronicle.
