Political Tactics
The members of Local 4309 Communications Workers of America at a regular meeting Monday, May 7th, unanimously passed a motion censuring turning the Ohio Bell Public Affairs forums into a partisan political rally.
The Ohio Bell solicits participation of its employees in these forums on the basis of a non-partisan forum to discuss the dangers of communism in America.
The members were particularly aroused at the forum on May 3rd where the speaker turned the meeting into a Republican rally and condemnation of the present administration became the order of the day.
Many of the members who had been urged to attend by their supervisors, left the meeting in protest when the speaker associated the threat of communism in this country with the remarks of the President of the United States concerning the recent steel problems.
