Sets $10,000 Goal By Dec. 25
With cash and subscriptions of more than $600 the Atlanta Tuberculosis Annual Seal Sale got under way at a meeting at the YMCA on Monday evening. D. H. E. Nash was principal speaker and held the interest of his listeners throughout the discourse and inspired a prolonged discussion.
Dr. G. W. Hightower who again is chairman of the drive, was also interesting in his summary of the aims of the association: prevention by education and describing the transfer to the city of all cases needing care and treatment. Dean E. C. Mitchell presided and Mrs. Lucy Cherry, Educational Worker on the association staff, outlined the procedure by which the drive had been planned.
Everyone present showed interest and enthusiasm and pledged their financial and moral support. They accepted the challenge to raise $10,000 by December 25 when the drive comes to a close. Seals will be sent through the mail to be used on letters and packages during the Christmas season thereby touching thousands who would probably not otherwise know the efforts. The public is urged that upon receipt of seals to mail checks at once "before you forget to do so-or call for a board member or staff member of the Atlanta Tuberculosis Association to call on you for donation." If further information is needed call Mrs. Cherry for literature or advice at the Atlanta Tuberculosis Association.
