BANK OFFICER SAYS
District Convention of Farm Loan Association Hears Favorable Report
Jamestown, N. D., July 17.-(AP)-
Progress in North Dakota farming conditions the past year were reported by officers of the Federal Land Bank of St. Paul at a district convention of the National Farm Loan associations here yesterday.
Holding that farmers are improving their position, George S. Gordhamer, treasurer of the bank, stated that in 1929 North Dakota shows a reduction of 26 per cent over 1928 in delinquencies of farmers' interest payments. "There were 38 per cent fewer foreclosures under way on June 30, 1929, than a year ago," he said.
"During the first six months of this year the bank showed an increase of approximately 50 per cent in the number of farms sold over the number sold in the same period a year ago," stated F. H. Klawon, president, who pointed out the same increase holds true in the number of acres sold and amount of money received.
