WILL SUPPORT PARKER.

John F. Finerty, Noted Irish Leader, Can't Stand Roosevelt.

Chicago, Oct. 1.—John F. Finerty, a well known Irish journalist, war correspondent, editor, lecturer, politician and patriot, has bolted the Republican ticket and announced his intention to support Alton B. Parker.

He left this morning for New York, where he has an appointment to meet the candidate and party managers.

Colonel Finerty is president of the United Irish league of the United States, of which organization Patrick Egan, former minister to Chile, is vice president. Egan is an ardent Roosevelt man.

The cause of Colonel Finerty's bolt is his disapproval of President Roosevelt's imperialistic tendency. When he makes his formal announcement, which will be on the stump, he will discuss the drift of the Republican administration toward an imperialistic attitude.
