Raleigh Post, 31st.
During the past few days the Superintendent of Public Instruction has received quite a number of inquiries from county superintendents of schools as to what must be done in the matter of continuing the schools after their county funds are all expended, pending the apportionment of the second $100,000 State appropriation intended to bring all schools up to the four-months minimum limit. They write the Superintendent that the schools in some instances have already run as long as the local funds will warrant, and want to know if they must suspend now until they get the State appropriation and then finish out the four months.
In all such cases the superintendent is instructing them to continue the schools without interruption, as he is sure that, even if the $100,000 available is not enough to bring all the schools up to the four months, there will certainly be enough to pay all teachers for the over-time they teach until the apportionment is finally made.
