QUEBEC, February 28.

SATURDAY last, the 23d Instant, John Bet, William Stewart, and John M'Ewen, Soldiers in his Majesty's 10th Regiment of Foot, were committed to the Jail in this City, being charged, upon the Oath of Richard Gascoigne, Publican, and Henry Lamport, Soldier of the said Regiment, with having attacked and severely wounded Jacob Rowe, Esquire, Deputy Provost Marshal of this District, near the Bishop's Palace, on Monday Night the 18th Instant, and robbed him of a Silver Watch and two Dollars, or thereabouts, in Money, as mentioned in our last Gazette.

The above Lamport has confessed being concerned in, and privy to, a Variety of other Robberies, committed by the above Gang in this City, for these two Years past. Joseph Coulet, a Lad of fifteen Years of Age, has been committed for being also concerned with the said Gang, in attempting to rob the House of Mademoiselle Abel, at St. Roc; and one Blunden, a Soldier in the 52d Regiment, is under Confinement for attempting, with the above Gang, to rob the House of Captain Williams, of said Regiment.

Mr. Rowe, whose Wounds were very dangerous, we can with Pleasure inform the Publick is in a fair Way of Recovery; and the Villains who were guilty of this cruel Robbery will, we are credibly informed, be tried for the same on Tuesday the 26th Day of March next.
