We were delighted to learn from the Democratic Union of last week that we have a regular butcher in our town. This will be good news to about four-fifths of our citizens, all of whom we believe, coincided with us in the opinion that a good meat market was very much needed in this place. The proprietor is a gentleman named Mr. Dannehaner. We have not had the honor of making the gentleman's acquaintance, having purchased what fresh meat we have used during the past year or two from our good natured friend, "Fritz," who kills a beef occasionally for the accommodation of his neighbors, but does not pretend to butcher regularly.
The people of Upper Sandusky will also be pleased to learn that Mr. Dannehaner is not only "accommodating," but furnishes "as good meat as the country will afford," for they have long felt the necessity of just such an individual in our midst.
We are obliged to our neighbor for the information, and regret very much that we have been so poorly posted in regard to the matter. We hope soon to secure the services of the young man who owns the Court House as a local reporter for the "Pioneer," and as he has a peculiar faculty for prying into everybody's business, our local department will then compare favorably with that of our up-street neighbor.
