A state enforcement bill which would make the buyer of alcohol equally guilty with the seller in New York state has been endorsed by the New York Anti-Saloon League. This bill, or a similar measure, will be introduced by Assemblyman Jenks, the dry leader in that legislative body.

The measure favored by the League provides for more drastic penalties for habitual violators than does the Volstead act, abolishes the right of physicians to issue prescriptions, and makes search and seizure unlawful in dwellings. State approval of Federal permits to manufacture or sell alcohol will be required, and buyers would be required to testify regarding the source of supply.
