Old Fort Sutter.

A Relic of the Pioneer Days in Danger of Demolition.

SACRAMENTO, November 4.-The indications are that Sutter's fort, one of the most historic landmarks in California, will soon be torn down to make room for the march of improvement. A number of prominent citizens and Native Sons had a scheme on foot some time past to purchase the property, which is now owned by parties residing in the East, and restore the fort and make a public park. They have not been successful, however, and today at a meeting of the Board of City Trustees an order was passed that a public street be opened through the fort within three weeks if the property is not otherwise disposed of in the meantime.
