Event Details
A remarkable Mortality having lately happen'd among our Nobility, above 30 of whom have died within these last two Years, one who signs Timothy Trim observes, that if to an Account of the Death or Recovery of any Person of Distinction were added the Species of the Distemper, and Name of the Doctor, it might probably have a salutary Effect. For as Success in Practice is the best Testimonial of a medical Ability, the judicious Practitioner would thus be distinguished from the ignorant Pretender, and the Patient have Experience to direct him in the Choice of a Physician; not to mention how much the Terror of having his Name almost daily coupled in the same Paragraph with that of a deceased Patient, would increase the Care and Assiduity of the most Eminent among the Faculty.
