HEALTH FACTS FOR
HOOSIER FOLK

NO CHILD
NEED HAVE
TOOTHACHE

Some of us old-timers still shudder at the recollection of agonized hours with toothache. Swollen jaws, distracted days, sleepless nights. And all of it unnecessary.

In days not very long ago we paid little attention to the teeth of young children once they were safely through the gums. The old-timer can say that in his own experience he has heard the dentists say, "Oh, they are only the baby teeth. There'll be others." But now we know the temporary set of teeth known as "milk teeth" or "baby teeth" must be well cared for if we expect the child's permanent teeth to come in properly.

Some dentists make a contract with some of his patients to care for the teeth of their children at a very small figure per year. He can afford to do this because he examines the teeth every month or two and thus avoids extensive repair work.
Do not neglect the teeth of the children. Teach them to keep the teeth clean and insist on regular dental examinations.
