PRESENT SESSION ENDS.

Colored School to Close Successful Term Tuesday Evening.

The colored school of this city has done excellent work this year.

Four hundred and eighty-nine pupils have been enrolled and 91 per cent. of those who continued during the school term have been promoted. Cooking, sewing and manual training have been taught in each of the upper grades, beginning with the fourth, and the work has been successfully carried out. All of the boys have made practical things, while the girls in the seventh and eighth grades have done the same.

Good work has been done in English and literature. The children have been encouraged to read good books.

The final exercises will be held Tuesday night, June 13, at which time some of the members of the school board and other prominent people will be present.
