Full Text

The Representatives' Hall was crowded yesterday afternoon with people of both sexes. [A vast audience?] from South Carolina, who came to hear Miss Grimke's claim upon the subject of abolition. She exhibited considerable talent for a female, as an orator—appeared not at all abashed, exhibiting herself in a position unusual to her sex, totally disregarding the doctrine of St. Paul which is so often used from the pulpit to keep women in? She briefly touched on the abuses, as we think all possessed. Her address was upon woman's right to deliver. When she gave notice, saying at the close that she had a sister who was desirous to speak on the same subject but was only 18 to match. She, however, intimated that after taking breath for one day, she should like to continue the subject and the meeting was accordingly adjourned to (tomorrow) after noon, at 3 o'clock, when she will conclude—Boston [Dec.?].
