PALMER TROOPERS - The New York Parents Guild of Palmer Memorial Institute, Sedalia, N.C. entertained the students living in the New York area very recently at the Prince Hall Masonic Temple in New York. The feature of the entertainment was the Palmer Troopers, who came from various states to exhibit their fine drilling.
Through the strict military discipline of Cadet John P. Hawkins, of the AFROTC at A&T College in Greensboro, N.C., the Troopers have developed remarkable training skill.
Palmer Troopers making the trip are picture above: 1st Captain Wendell Scott, 2nd Captain Carlton Quiller, Commanding; 1st Sgt. Andre Jackson, 1st Sgt. Michael Gilford, M-Sgt. Kenneth Jackson, Sgt. Woodrow Odom, Cpl. Ronald Miller, Cpl. Oscar Blayton, Cpl. Wayne Butler, Cpl. Kenneth Wiggins, Cpl. Alex Jones, and Cpl. Newnan Epps.
Other officers who could not make the trip were: 1st Captain Charlie Humphries, 2nd Lieutenant James Blayton, and 2nd Lieutenant Robert Gray.
