CANTON, Sept. 8, 1868.
Board met pursuant to adjournment. All the members present.
In the matter of the application of Henry Gribble for the alteration of a road, the alteration was granted in accordance with the viewers report.
The viewers' report on the application of G. W. Lawrence and others, was read the 3d time, and further proceedings adjourned till Oct. 14th, 1868.
N. Neidig was awarded the contract for supplying the county with coal, for the ensuing year at 10 cents per bushel.
Ordered that the sum of $100 be appropriated to the City of Canton, for the Fire Alarm Telegraph, an instrument to be placed in the Public Buildings.
Ordered, That the Justices' transcripts on file and not allowed, be referred to the Prosecuting Attorney for examination and report.
The Board proceeded to examine the books of the Auditor's office, and find the County Treasurer charged with $55,357.95; they then counted the money in the Treasury-and orders redeemed by the Treasurer since Sept 1st, 1868 -and finding the amount to be correct; an order was issued by the Auditor to U. R. Feather, esq., treasurer, directing him to turn over to John Steel, esq., Treasurer elect, the money and orders redeemed as herein stated, together with all official papers and books in his possession.
Ordered, That the $20,000 note given by this Board to the First National Bank, of Dec. 9th, 1867, for Bridge funds, be renewed for 90 days on the best possible terms.
Adjourned till regular term, Oct. 11, 1868.
