Saturday is YWCA day for all grade school age boys. Movies, Basketball, Television hour, Game room activities. A truly Great Day for the Boys to enjoy themselves and have fun.

The month of January has a special significance for the Young Men's Christian Association, beginning Sunday, and continuing thru January 30 which is YMCA Sunday. YMCA week will be observed throughout the nation.

The Allen W. Young is proud to be associated with a movement so Christian in purpose and intent, and so intricately woven into the structure of the Christian church.

What is the YMCA program?

The YMCA is dedicated to the task of promoting the building of Christian character and the teaching of a Christian way of living.

How has the Allen W. Young YMCA proceeded to perform this task?

In our YMCA program we meet this task by offering a well-rounded program thru clubs, athletic events, lectures, open forums, leagues for baseball, softball, basketball, movies educational and entertaining, classes in swimming, craft, reading facilities, meeting place for outside groups as churches, schools, social clubs, individual groups, political groups, community groups and labor groups.

During the year 1954, we served more than 600 different people thru our program efforts. Enrollment in our Gra-Y clubs total 172 boys between the ages of 9 and 12; enrollment in our two Hi-Y clubs total 71.

Our average daily attendance in the building for 1954 was 110. Our paid membership totals over 300; participating non-members total well over a thousand.

We offer a constructive leisure-time program for all age groups and our staff is well qualified to supervise various types of groups.

We shall continue to serve the community of North Little Rock by seeking new interests so that we may offer a better and more enlightened program for our youth and our community.

We want you, the community to know that the YMCA needs you! The leaders of our community of tomorrow are Youth of Today!
