KANSAS CITY, July 13.-The Kansas City Star will remain in the hands of Irwin Kirkwood, president editor and his associates. The sale of the Star and its morning edition the Times, for $11,000,000 to Kirkwood and associates was announced last night by the trustees of the estate of William Rockhill Nelson, founder of the newspaper.

Eight bids were considered in the proceeds of the sale to go into the trust fund established by Nelson in his will for the purchase of a collection of works and reproductions in fine arts to be maintained in Kansas City.

Other properties included in the estate will bring the fund up to $20,000,000.
