When the noon hour came a large table was made on the lawn which was loaded with every good thing to eat, including chicken, dressing, pickles, potato salad, ham sandwiches, pies of various kinds, honey, cheese, celery, and 18 large fine cakes, coffee and tea and other things too many to mention. 105 partook of the feast which was served cafeteria style. Mr. and Mrs. Brown are worthy Christian people and have reared a family of eight children and there has never been a death in this family. Some of the children were not able to be present which was the only thing to mar the day. The aged couple received several nice useful presents besides a gift of $18.75. Miss Ann Aliares took a picture of the table, also a picture of the aged couple, and one of the relatives to the fourth generation.
In the afternoon Mrs. Weatherby, a former pastor of the church, gave a short talk which was interesting, after which the services were dismissed. It is needless to say that Mr. and Mrs. Brown were highly pleased with the honor which the people showed them and of which they were so worthy. May God bless them in their last days.
